The way you do one thing is the way you do everything.
Jarred did not learn that from a book. He learned it at nineteen, weighing three hundred pounds, deciding for the first time that he was going to mean something to himself.

Excellence is a process.
Austin, Texas

Jarred grew up in New Jersey, where food is a love language.
He was an athlete in high school and always carried some extra weight, but when the sports stopped, nothing replaced them. The weight kept coming. By nineteen he was five foot eight and just under three hundred pounds, with no plan and no particular belief that any of it was going to change.
Then came Six Flags Great Adventure. He could not fit in a regular roller coaster seat. They put him in the fat seat and double strapped him in.
That was the bottom.

Fourteen months later he was down over a hundred and twenty five pounds. At twenty one he was the USBF New Jersey Natural Bodybuilding Champion, competing at 175. All natural. As he still insists on putting it: “All natty, bro.”
Two decades later he squats 550 and deadlifts 600. And he has not missed a workout since. Not one. Not on vacation, not while moving, not the week he opened a gym.
That transformation is where he learned the Formula for Success.
The Formula for Success
- 01Have a Plan
- 02Execute
- 03Be Consistent
- 04Get a Coach
- 05Get Uncomfortable

Five steps. No shortcuts. They have never once failed him.
So he did the obvious thing and pointed them at everything else.
He graduated summa cum laude, finished near the top of his class at Penn State Law, and passed the New Jersey Bar. Then he never practiced a day of law in his life.
He went into corporate technology sales instead. Eleven years, teams responsible for over thirty million dollars in revenue, and enough success to fund a handful of side businesses and real estate investments along the way.
The law degree hangs on the wall as a reminder that discipline transfers and career paths are optional.

Somewhere in there he married his high school sweetheart. Katelyn went through her own weight loss transformation at the same time he did, which means they have now spent nearly twenty five years watching each other become someone new and choosing to stay.

She is his wife, his business partner, his co host, and the person who tells him when an idea is bad.
The corporate career worked. That was the problem.
Eleven years in, the money was real and the fulfillment was not. And then it clicked. He had not succeeded because of his boss, his company, or the product he was selling. He had succeeded because of himself, and because of the formula he had been running since he was nineteen.
Which meant he could take it anywhere.
So he left and started TRUE Fitness and Focus. Helping people become who they already knew they could be was the first work that ever felt like a calling instead of a job.
Jarred believes discipline is the greatest freedom available to a person, because it hands you agency over your own life.
The Five P's of Discipline
Power.
Your body and your energy.
Presence.
Your ability to focus and be here now.
Perspective.
How you interpret the challenge.
Purpose.
Your why.
Planning.
The system that closes the loop.
The physical work is in there. So is meditation, stoic practice, getting honest about what you actually want, and the PED (Plan, Execute, Dominate) framework, which exists because a goal that never makes it onto a calendar is just a nice thought.
Jarred is also an avid believer in mindfulness practices and engineering a winning mindset. Dr. Joe Dispenza says everyone should meditate for ten minutes daily unless you are really busy, in which case you should meditate for an hour. Jarred took that seriously, and has employed a daily extended meditation practice ever since. He calls it the most important exercise he does.
Like most people, his default setting is to relitigate the past or sprint into the future. Presence is the discipline he works hardest at, and the one that has changed the most. What Jarred has learned is that the further we remove ourselves from fear, worry, and doubt, the better life becomes, and the more clearly we can see what actually matters. Being here. And being grateful.
Jarred has also led the community through multiple eighty four hour water only fasts, which says something about his capacity to push himself, and to help other people learn to embrace discomfort alongside him.

Today Jarred is an investor in and partners closely with The Pershing, an exclusive private members club in East Austin, where he created The Focus Room. A private, high performance self mastery center built for exactly this work.

He heads The Pershing Health and Wellness Society and leads Wellness Wednesdays every week. He coaches remote clients through Muscle & Mindset, coaches couples alongside Katelyn through SUPERNOVA, hosts Stoic Sundays biweekly, and runs the monthly Winner's Circle for people who want their goals held against a public deadline.

In 2026, Jarred was named one of five finalists for the Austin Under 40 Awards in the Fitness, Sports, and Wellness category.
When he is not training or coaching he is usually outside with Katelyn, working through the Austin restaurant scene (food is still a love language), or at a concert or a stand up show.
He received his personal training certification from the University of Texas at Austin. He co hosts a podcast with Katelyn called Genius at Work with Jarred and Katelyn Curcio.
Katelyn Curcio, RN

Katelyn is the co founder of TRUE Fitness and Focus and the operations lead of The Focus Room. She is the reason the programs hold their integrity, the events actually happen, and the community stays what it is supposed to be.
Before any of this, she built a career. Two decades in healthcare management and operations across long term care facilities and hospital systems, and most recently at Restora Plastic Surgery, where she started as head nurse and now runs the practice as practice manager.
She is a registered nurse and holds her personal training certification through NASM.

Which is to say: while Jarred was building his skill set, Katelyn was the backbone that supported him every step of the way.
She co coaches SUPERNOVA alongside Jarred, bringing depth in communication, emotional intelligence, and relational dynamics to couples ready to do real work together. Where Jarred brings structure and challenge, Katelyn brings depth and hold. The combination is what makes the program work.
She went through her own weight loss transformation at the same time Jarred went through his, which means she is not coaching anyone through anything she has not already done herself.

Katelyn is a devoted comedy connoisseur, a fan of all things wellness, and an unapologetic reader of smutty books. Also every other kind of book. But especially those.
She loves to host, which is convenient, because this family builds communities for a living.

And in nearly twenty years of living together, she has done every single load of Jarred's laundry. He would like the record to reflect that he is aware of this.

Together they host the Genius at Work Podcast and run every event in the ecosystem. Twenty five years in, this is a two person operation built on exactly the principles they teach.
